Project InTandem is a dance company based in Calgary, Alberta, and is run by two choreographers who brought me on as their graphic designer to work on the visual assets for their inaugural independent show. The first project was in 2017 and saw a weekend of sellout performances. For the second show in 2020, the client requested a logo to be created for the company to carry them through their future seasons and build a brand identity independently from the shows. Based on initial discussions with the choreographers, a few high-level designs were created utilizing the duality of the show – two separate choreographers working together to create two shows that are presented on the same night.
After discussion and the proof/approval process, the logo took on a transitional aesthetic, with a linear look to the overall design. The client added a second logo, artist specific, that they would use for contracts, clothing, and other specific purposes. The main logo is shown mostly in gray scale, but the shade is changed for the 2020 show collateral. This contract also required social media posts, and advertisements on an as-needed basis.
